Space camera controller is an important part in the electronic system of acamera, and the communication interface plays as a tie between the controller andthe satellite platform, achieving various functions plays an important role. With therapid development of China’s aerospace technology, the tasks of cameras on thesatellite become more diversified, the function of the camera controller is morecomplex, and transmission rate of communication system higher. The previous lowrate communication system design is very difficult to meet the new requirements.This paper introduces a new type of special data bus——SpaceWire, which isdedicated to space missions. It designs a camera communications system with highreliability, fast transfer rate, so that the camera can work normally in the harsh spaceenvironment. SpaceWire is a kind of high speed, serial, point-to-point, full-duplexdata communication standards, and put forward by European space agency in2003.At present, there are many universities, research institutions at home and abroadhave launched the studies on SpaceWire. And many countries have made SpaceWireapply to many space missions successfully.This paper introduces the basic structure of space camera control system andcommunication buses commonly used, and compares their advantages anddisadvantages, highlighting the advantages of SpaceWire, determines the controlsystem structure of DSP+FPGA. It introduces the research status of SpaceWire at home and abroad, explaining SpaceWire used in the space mission is feasible.Through study the SpaceWire protocol ECSS-E-50-12A, this paper expounds theSpaceWire protocol specifications at all levels.This paper takes AT7911E (SMCS332SpW) protocol chip as the core,combining with the DSP and FPGA. It designs a space camera communicationinterface based on SpaceWire. In the aspect of hardware, this paper introduces thefunction of the protocol chip, DSP and FPGA, designs the hardwareinterface between AT7911E and DSP, and the connection of protocol chip and buscable. In the aspect of software, it designs the program of DSP and FPGA,configurates and operates the AT7911E.This system sends and receives data by thecontrol of DSP and realizes the function of DPRAM, to provide communicationstorage space for AT7911E by FPGA, so realize the function of external high-speedcommunication. Through experiment proves that the communication system cantransmit data at the speed of100Mb/s.Finally, it summarizes and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of thissystem, provides some reference for improving the project in future.
