As the global economy develops rapidly and the industrial technology changes witheach passing day, the automobile industry has never developed so vigorously before likenow, the consequence of which is the problem of traffic congestion and traffic accidents.Although relevant industries have put forward some solutions, they are basically aiming atcertain local problems and a comprehensive information management system is still absent.ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) emerges at this right moment, in which theadvanced information technology, communication data transmission system, electroniccontrol system and computer processing system are effectively applied to the entiretransportation management system so as to coordinate pedestrians, vehicles and roads inharmony and thus establish a real-time, accurate and efficient transportation managementsystem that can play its role comprehensively. The product involved in this paper is acomprehensive system terminal integrating the GPS (Global Position System) globalpositioning system and the MTK (Media Tek) hardware platform. Mainly from theperspective of safety detection, safety assessment is made by the terminal according tosome relevant data, thus making corresponding prompt and alarm and sending the resultsto the server so as to ensure the objective data analysis and statistics at the background.In this paper, software and hardware solutions of vehicle safety system are elaboratedin details and put into practice. This mobile terminal hardware includes GPS chip moduleand MTK6235baseband chip. And the basic functions of its software include collectionand analysis of GPS data, sending and receiving of wireless data of GPRS and SMSmodules as well as mapping processing of information between task modules, etc. Finally,based on the GPS data information, vehicle safety detection system is designed andpractical functions like data tracking and positioning, dangerous driving warning and geographical fence prompt are also provided in this paper. The solutions in this paper arenot only suitable for land vehicles, but also for the expansion and development of otherimportant vehicles after the later maintenance and improvement.
