Study On The Second Phase Of Landscape Design In Kunming University Of Science And Technology Chenggong Campus

Universities are the cultural and educational center of a city, the place whichgathers knowledge and science and also the environment in which students study and live.Campus landscape is an important place for learning and communication in collegecampuses. With the continuous development of higher education, university towns as theeducational base rapidly rise in suburbs and form the educational regions on a certain scale.However, large-scale construction and numerous campuses lead to many problems oflandscape design.The new campus of Kunming University of Science and Technology is located at theuniversity town in Chenggong New Area, Kunming. Chenggong New Area is the key areafor the future development of Kunming. The university town is an important factor ofpromoting the development of Chenggong New Area. Therefore, the construction ofKunming University of Science and Technology Chenggong Campus is both anopportunity and a challenge for the development of the school and the educationaldevelopment of Yunnan. Based on the overall planning of Kunming University of Scienceand Technology Chenggong Campus, the paper takes the second phase of landscape ofKunming University of Science and Technology Chenggong Campus as the research object,fully takes advantage of the current situation of places and abundant plant resources inYunnan, takes integrity, diversity, humanity history and sustainable ecology as theprinciples, designs the second phase of landscape of Kunming University of Science andTechnology Chenggong Campus from six aspects including landscape structure, landscapetraffic, landscape node, plant disposition, road pavement, waterscape, sculpture accessoriesand public service facilities, tries to mold Kunming University of Science and Technologyinto the name card of the education industry of Yunnan, hopes to provide reference for thelandscape design of colleges and universities in Yunnan and the future campus landscapeand integrates campus construction, landscape and culture.Main research contents include:(1)Conduct the design orientation of the second phase of campus landscape whichcovers an area of66.6hm2according to the locational condition, natural condition andcultural history of Kunming University of Science and Technology Chenggong Campus,take “the unity of knowing and doing” as the theme, design the overall structure of the second phase of landscape, form the landscape characteristics of “two axles, four areas,one region and seven scenic spots” and strengthen the integrity and continuity of the wholecampus landscape.(2)Fully consider the relationship among places, construction and planning road basedon the overall planning of Kunming University of Science and Technology ChenggongCampus, design landscape traffic and enable campus roads to satisfy traffic demand andliving needs.(3)Investigate and analyze the first phase of landscape of Kunming University ofScience and Technology Chenggong Campus, find out the existing problems, designlandscape nodes according to campus questionnaires and the analysis of the behaviorpsychological needs of teachers and students and based on the design of landscapestructure, form7main landscape nodes,7secondary landscape nodes and18extensionnodes, reasonably make use of various landscape elements in the process of design, fullyexplore the nature of landscape space, avoid the shortage of landscape personality due tosimilar design techniques, the absence of the sense of belonging of landscape due to thepoor understanding of user needs and the lack of the cultural deposits of landscape due tothe neglect of campus history and culture and create the places for leaning, leisure,communication and activities with campus characteristics and humanistic care.(4)Fully respect the current situation of places, take advantage of different methods ofspace construction and the rational combination of trees, bushes, grass and vines, andcreate rich campus space and phytocoenosium and guarantee the mutual development ofcampus landscape, society and the school in order to ensure the ecologicalization andsustainability of campus landscape.(5)Design the pavement in each area and turn the pavement into a part of traffic andthe important manifestation model of campus culture according to different landscapecharacteristics of four areas in landscape structure in order to form a unified whole of thevarious elements of landscape.(6)In order to make campus landscape rich, vivid and natural, design waterscape inthe important landscape nodes of the campus and highlight the ecology and diversity of campus landscape by taking advantage of the various forms of waterscape, ecologicalrevetment materials and water plants.(7)Design sculpture accessories to embellish the environment in different landscapenodes according to the theme of landscape design and campus history and culture, createan atmosphere of campus culture, demonstrate the unique features of campus, design therecreational facilities and labeling facilities of campus and closely connect campuslandscape with users to fully show the characteristics of Kunming University of Scienceand Technology.
