The cam mechanism is the main mechanism, implemented a series of precise movements in the valve actuating mechanism. With wearing of the valve actuating mechanism, contact conditions will deteriorate. The contact surface of the resulting change will affect the tappet motion accuracy, and even a devastating effect on the components. So the friction and wear of the cam mechanism is the main reason for failure by the cam drive system; the inevitable result is accompanied by friction contact with each other objects in relative motion, the surface material wear or residual deformation phenomena. Most scholars on the wear of the cam mechanism based on experimental studies, to consider individual factors impact on the wear, however, the wear of the cam mechanism is a complex process of interaction of a number of factors. And the wear mechanism is also not a single form.This paper which based on theory of solid fatigue wear explore the mechanism of wear of the cam mechanism, considered on the basis of the contact stress, material properties, surface parameters, such as a number of factors, And use the model of the solid fatigue wear to calculation the wear rate of materials. Basing on numerical methods by ΓpH0.B.B proposed for solving the cam friction problem, through the development of simulation software, Simulation for the amount of wear of the cam mechanism on different moments. In this paper the development of wear simulation software can replace the traditional time-consuming, laborious experimental methods, forecasting cam mechanism, the wear state and its life. The software combines the advantages of C#, SQL database and Matlab, the ability to easily access, store, display various states of the amount of wear, such as the cam profile, cam radius of curvature of the wear volume, wear vector load. By real-time data processing can make the simulation more realistic.This paper established a cam mechanism wear simulation instance, and drew the curve of the state variables change of the cam and tappet in wear process. And by analyzing the changes in the law of the state variables, a clearer understanding of the process of the cam mechanism, and it can be seen from the data, the material of the cam mechanism, contact stress, the cam profile has a very important role to wear of the cam mechanism.
