Wear is one of the common factories that destroys the mechanical device components. When the parts are worn out, the quality of fit between parts becomes worse or beyond allowance, thus leaves adverse effect on devices and products, even makes the friction system vibrate and noise. Making research on parts wear and lifetime related has a good influence on improving the abrasion resistance of parts, prolonging the parts’ lifetime and guiding when to repair or replace the parts, so we can reduce the loss of resource and economy by parts wear.The environment, materials and matching relation influence the wear of parts, at the same time, these aspects are dispersed, so the wear volume and the lifetime of a batch of the same parts are also dispersed. During the wear process, if the friction system is constant, the wear of parts will be steady after the run-in period, and the persistence as well as the allowance wear volume decides the parts’ lives. In this paper, models of predicting the wear lifetime by the parameter connecting with time in the wear calculation equations were presented; the models of wear life distribution were presented in the account of uncertainty factors; the wear analysis software was developed with VC++6.0 which is used to predicted the lifetime and reliability of parts’ wear.The concrete research content is as follow:(1)Summarized the equation of different kinds of wear, established the wear life models from wear volume equation and analyzed the application conditions and the problems exist.(2)Established the wear lifetime distribution model, contrasted the results of the new model and the wear resisting reliable life model and verified the correctness of the new model. The feasibility of Monte Carlo simulation method which can be used in wear lifetime prediction was introduced.(3)The typical mechanical product——cutting tool’s wear life distribution model was presented, and the model was proved by the tool life data.(4)The wear analysis software was developed in using VC++6.0, the wear lifetime and reliability of life are calculated in the wear calculation dialog units. The software body is SID(Single Document Interface), and the software includes model selecting, lifetime calculating, results saving, materials’ properties searching and variables description function dialogs.
