With the advent of the information age, aesthetic ideas have brought furtherdevelopment to the construction industry and large space buildings with magnificentappearances, complex structures, powerful comprehensive features meet the eyeeverywhere. There are numerous fire hazards in the large space building due to theinternal personnel-intensive, complex facilities. Meanwhile, as fire occur in thesebuildings is easy flashover, spread fast and common firefighting equipment can hardlybe used while it happens, the file fighting is rather difficult, so the study of the largespace building fire extinguishing system, especially of the fire monitor extinguishingsystem has important practical significance and utility value.In this paper, according to the characteristics and requirements of the fire of largespace building, the research and development status of fire monitor will be discussed;Based on the particle kinematics knowledge, fire monitor jet trajectory equation will bededucted. Then, after the correction of the trajectory equation according the actual flowcurve provided by HKUST, the final theoretical formula is determined which is fairlyclose to the actual flow curve. According to this formula, the maximum range andheight of jet error of the flow curve against the actual ones are only5.6%and2.5%,indicating that the equation has a certain credibility.According to the theoretical derivation, through the jet force analysis, the motionmodule is established; Initial conditions are determined by the initial velocity of jet flowderived from the structural parameters, working pressure and flow rate. After it isestablished using Matlab/Simulink, the flow curve simulation model will be checked byexperimental data so as to validate that such a model can well reflect the actual flowcurve of fire monitor within a certain range.Based on the simulation results under different working parameters, a detailedanalysis about the effects of working pressure, flow rate, pitch angle, mounting heightof jet range and landing speed of the jet flow is expanded.The fire water cannon is ultimately proved to be the most reasonable extinguishingsystem by analyzing of the extinguishing system of Wangjiang Anqing Stadium andcomparing the advantages and disadvantages of several large space fire extinguishingsystem of their own. Carrying on the design to the fire monitor extinguishing system,the required number and model of fire monitor is calculated; the corresponding flow rate, pressure are also given in order to calculate their design jet ranges and initial flowvelocities and other kinds of parameters; Designing a reasonable installation positionwhich also achieve the extinguishing requirements and inputting the required flow rate,pressure under the previous simulation model under ideal state, then the maximal rangeresult will be obtained so as to check whether the fire monitor selected can reach the firerequirements or not.
