The south department of Dalian City is the political, economic center, it’s the core area of Dalian City, where has an important proportion of load and great demand of power supply capacity and reliability. But the structure of southern power grid may has hidden safety problems, which can not meet the special requirements, when faced with a serious disaster weather or special circumstances tower failure, south of downtown area, especially the east of Yan Shui will appear large area blackout, which will seriously affect the local industrial production and people’s life, causing serious social impact and major economic losses. improving the urban southern power grid structure, building the second transmission channel which connected the southern power grid and the chief grid, ensuring the security of power supply for most industrial and resident in special circumstances is very necessary.Flexible HVDC technology is an international advanced technology of power transmission. Combining with the characteristics of Dalian area power grid, the existing flexible HVDC technology and equipment level, I Designed a virtual solution which is based on the summary of previous research on flexible HVDC technology and the power system. The solution influence to Dalian grid system is also analyzed in the paper.
