Super-premium efficient permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) has highefficiency and high power factor, which accords the national policy of energy-saving. So it isused in the industrial field more and more widely. In order to improve the efficiency of PMSM,it is necessary to study its loss. And the research of copper loss、iron loss and mechanical lossis relatively mature, but the research of stray loss is still incomplete. Therefore, the analysisand research on stray loss of efficient PMSM is very necessary.6sets of efficient PMSM are selected in this article as the prototype motors which arefrom three power levels, and finite element analysis, calculation and test are finished for eachprototype motor, and the stray loss correction coefficient of each prototype motor is given.First, the no-load stray loss of PMSM is classified. The finite element model of threepower levels is seted up by using finite element software and each factor of no-load stray lossis analyzed and calculated. Then all the factors are added to get the no-load stray loss of eachprototype motor and the proportion of each factor in calculated value of no-load stray loss.Second, the load finite element model of three power levels is seted up, and each factor ofload stray loss is analyzed and calculated. Then all the factors are added to get the load strayloss of each prototype motor and the proportion of each factor in calculated value of load strayloss.Again, the thermal test、load test、no-load test、wind friction loss test and ideal no-loadtest of6prototype motors are done to measure the load stray loss、no-load stray loss and idealno-load stray loss for each prototype motor.Finally, the experimental results of stray loss are compared with the calculated results ofstray loss to get the stray loss correction coefficient of ideal no-load、no load and load, and itcould provide initial estimate of stray loss when design new efficient PMSM.
