Through the Vehicle to Vehicle and Vehicle to Infrastructure Communication, Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks can assist the driver to obtain the real time traffic information report, including vehicle’s position, speed, direction and congestion situation. The design of Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks can provide an efficient and stable platform to vehicular communication, guaranteeing the traffic safety and offering traffic safety service and information. In the meanwhile, genuine and believable traffic statistics will be provided from this platform for city transportation management and traffic resources regulation.Based on the WAVE Protocol Stack platform realized from the cross-layer design of Internet of Vehicles in the laboratory, this thesis studied the software and hardware platform construction model of the Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks, the implementing ways of Service Channel routing algorithm and packet forwarding algorithm of Control Channel respectively.To construct an efficient and stable hardware and software platform and to meet the demands of the research, realization and application of Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks routing algorithms, at first place, this thesis chose the Alix3D3development board matched with the relatively hardware function model as the fundamental hardware platform and selected the TP-LINK TL-WDN3321wireless card as the radio equipment for the hardware platform. The software platform for the research is the inner core of the Linux operating system,3.12.6version, so as to complete the platform construction of the Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks. In order to realize the node discovering and route addressing of Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks on SCH, this thesis took the Kernel-AODV as the transplant foundation to realize the routing algorithm. Through rewriting the Makefile and revising the source code, successful compiling and stable operation of the algorithm is finally obtained and proved. In addition, this thesis designed and carried out the configuration of the IP address based on the network card’s MAC address, realizing the code implementation and further examined its function and stability perfectly.At last, to realize the self-organization function of Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks on CCH, this thesis concluded the handling mechanism and algorithm framework of WSMP data package broadcast forwarding and proved its basic function and platform compatibility via a series of tests.
