With the continued increase in global car ownership, the pressure energy andenvironment are increasing. People’s awareness of environmental protection has beensignificantly improved and more and more people pay attention to new energy vehicles.Pure electric vehicle in its zero emissions environmental advantage provides with brightfuture, and major car manufacturers have stepped up investment in Pure Electric vehicle.However, due to the dual constraints of batteries cost and continued driving mileage aswell as low motor load factor in traditional single-motor driving mode, improving energyutilization of electric vehicles is a very effective way. Generally there are two ways toimprove the situation: traditional configuration improvements and new research on theconfiguration. This paper focuses on new driving configuration studying and proposes anew dual-motor coupled driving configuration for pure electric vehicle, and a few jobshave been done for this configuration in the following aspects.Firstly, some typical dual-motor driving systems were compared and analyzed.Integrating the advantages of each configuration, the paper proposes a new dual-motorcoupled driving configuration and completes the analysis of the structure, mode andenergy saving potential of configuration from the theoretical analysis.Secondly, the paper proposes matching principle for this configuration, analyzingparameters matching constraints in this matching principle, completing parametersmatching for two drive motors and transmission system. Then, the paper makes the motorequivalent external characteristic curve using motor matching results for dual-motorcoupled driving system.Thirdly, the paper puts forward the vehicle driving control and energy managementstrategy for dual-motor coupled driving system, focusing on introducing the needs of the torque calculation module and power management module. Demanded torque calculationmodule introduces the basic torque calculation method and torque compensationcalculation method in power mode and the economy mode. Energy management moduleintroduces rule pattern recognition rules basing on the minimum requirements for motorelectric power method and dynamic allocation rules in coupled driving mode.Finally, basing on MATLAB/Simulink, the paper builds the offline simulation modelfor dual-motor coupled driving system. Then the paper introduces the modeling of driving、parts assembly and control module and verifies the advantages of the power targets andenergy-saving potential comparing with the traditional single-motor driving vehicle.One of the goals of this object is to verify the energy-saving potential by studying theconfiguration and vehicle driving control strategy for dual-motor coupled driving system,the other is to study frontier technology for meeting projects and business needs.
