As severe of the two major problems of energy shortage and environmental pollution,energy-saving and environment-friendly vehicles have become a new industry which countries of the world pay attentions to and develop.And the governments are also actively involved in exploring the ways to promote the use of new-energy cars.In all the use of new energy cars,plug-in hybrid electric vehicle has the most practical commercial value.Compared with the traditional hybrids,plug-in hybrid electric vehicle is not only capable of using orsdinary power grid to charge,but has a longer electric range.However,the plug-in hybrid electric vehicles,at this stage of research,still exists some problems such as low efficiency of drive systems.Therefore,this paper studies the new plug-in parallel hybrid electric vehicles and in order to ensure the vehicle performance and improve efficiency of the drive system as well as the economy at the same time.Based on Yutong ZK6109H5 Z passenger car,which was modified to new configuration PHEV passenger cars with dual-motor drive,the paper studies the power system optimization and control of the PHEV after modification.The main contents of this paper are:Firstly,this paper analyses and compares various structures of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles,as well as their advantages and disadvantages.Based on the power drive system scheme of the plug-in hybrid electric vehicles with the parallel structure,the paper designs a new configuration of PHEV which is based upon efficiency optimization by modifying dual power sources with single motor and engine to three power sources with dual-motor and engine.And the configuration improves the efficiency of the motor and engine.Secondly,the paper makes a selection of the power components in the vehicle power system after determining the vehicle designs for dual-drive motor PHEV.And the scheme matches reasonable parameters for the power components in the system of dual-drive motor PHEV in accordance with the vehicle dynamic performance indicators.Thirdly,the control strategy for dual-drive motor PHEV drive system and corresponding vehicle control strategy simulation model is established.First three existing plug-in hybrid system control strategy is analyzed.Then the control strategy model based on electric power-assisted is developed according to features of dual-drive motor PHEV as well as its working mode.Moreover,the model for control strategy is built by using MATLAB/Simulink simulation platform.Finally,the paper built the vehicle model for dual-drive motor PHEV making use of Cruise software.Also,the vehicle model was connected with control strategy model which was established in the Matlab/Simulink platform,and made the simulation calculations.The simulation results show that the new PHEV configuration not only meet expected performance indicators but improved the economy.At the same time,drive system efficiency is also well optimized.
