With the rapid development of China’s economy, the rise of many construction projects are complex issues associated with the stability of rock slope.This paper take rock slope of one power plant as the research object.Based on field investigation of research areas and The relevant data, by useing respectively plane projection method and limit equilibrium method, the comprehensive qualitative analysis and quantitative calculation of the engineering slope have been done. Then, we do numerical simulation on typical section to analyzes its failure mechanism and the stress strain response under the condition of static and dynamic load.The main content of this research is as follows:Based on consulting and analysis of the related literature at home and abroad, summary about the general situation of research and development and The destruction mechanism of rock slope and the main analysis method of stability is gaven. Engineering geology of the study area are analyzed to study the influence of the region’s topography, geological structure, hydrogeological, geological and other adverse factors on slope stability.The result demonstrates that amplification of seismic wave Input into slope exists due to soil and free face, the displacement of Slope increases significantly with increasing earthquake time. Deformation characteristics of the soil slope under earthquake showed a large displacement should happened at the foot of slope and rock slope failure mode is still the potential instability of a plane sliding along the surface structure. The results will help to further reveal instability mechanism the rock slope under earthquake.By using stereographic projection method to analyze the stability of slopes, The results shows that the state of the failure surface can influence on rock mass stability; From the qualitative analysis of slope stability of each part of the study area have been done.For potential slope failure which may produce in the above analysis, Limit equilibrium equation Can be used to make the stability calculation of plane sliding and sliding wedge. Making predictions for the collapse of unstable failure and evaluation can guide field slope excavation and support measures;first,Under static conditions, the project will not happen slope sliding failure;second,under the conditions in the earthquake, engineering slope sliding and circular sliding wedge will not damage; third, the Slope project under earthquake conditions may happen local steps plane sliding failure; last, if safety factor of global and local level flat surface sliding is less than the required safety factor of structural engineering slope, the slope requires bolt support.On the basis of failure modes analysis and stability evaluation, numerical simulations of the typical profile are done to study the distribution of deformation and slope failure stress and strain development,a clear factor of safety and so on,then evaluate the slope security and made design of reinforcement measures of slope.
