Multi-ribbed composite wall is made up of small cross section, little reinforcement ratio concrete frames and embedded lightweight. Because of the wall’s production process, there are some bonding interfaces formed at the contact position between concrete frame and the embedded block. So far little information about the bonding interfaces performances is achieved, so it is necessary to carry on a research about the bonding interface properties between lightweight concrete block and normal concrete on the material level. Based on this research, a further work will be done to study the effect of bonding interface properties to multi-ribbed composite wall mechanical properties. In this paper, a series of slant shear tests will be conducted to test the bonding interface properties of lightweight aerated concrete block and normal concrete, then cohesive elements are used to simulate the interfaces. Besides, taking the bonding interface properties into considerision, the multi-ribbed composite wall cell is regarded as the research object in order to establish a finite element model for nonlinear analysis. The main contents are as follows:(1) Using the slant shear test, bonding interface properties between lightweight aerated concrete block and ordinary concrete are obtained, including specimen failure modes, interface strength and deformation characteristics. Then the influing factors, such as bonding interface slant angle, block strength, interface dry or wet state are analyzed on the interface strength and an interface failure envelope is proposed.(2) Based on the principle of cohesion zone model and datas got from the experiment, the interface constitutive relations are built under different conditions, and the cohesive elements are used to simulate the bonding interface, then comparisons of simulation results and experimental ones are showed that the finite element model and the material and interface constitutive relations are reliable.(3) According to the multi-ribbed composite wall cell diagonal axial compression test, a finite element model is established with the same parameters of the specimen, and cohesive elements are applied to simulate bonding interface between reinforced concrete frame and embedded block, a model without cohesive elements is also set up as a comparison to study the bonding interface properties effect on the wall cell mechanics properties, then using the changes of cohesive elements parameters to simulation the bonding interface crack and its expansion so that analysis the loading process of the multi-ribbed composite wall cell.
