As an auto feeding equipment which is used in directional sorting, the feeder iswidely used in many emerging high-tech fields such as electronic components,medical equipment and automotive electronics since the simple structure and easyapplication, which can greatly improve the efficiency of the automation equipment.But with the social development, the need for feeder is no longer the early simple onethat realizing the function of the whole column feed, and the feeders with lower noise,less power consumption, more precise feeding and more beautiful appearance areneeded in more and more occasions. There are also more and more places in whichthe space for feed system is limited need to use the feeding system to transport thematerials.The reciprocating piezoelectric linear feeder (hereinafter referred to as thereciprocating feeder) is proposed and designed to realize the function of circularvibration feeder based on linear feeder, forming the transporting ability with thesmaller volume. So, the research emphasis is how to drive two top trays to do thevibration in opposite phase in the condition that using the amount of traditional linearfeeder to realize the material reciprocating motion.By discussing the piezoelectric effect and the application of piezoelectric drivingtechnology, and analyzing the various performance parameters of piezoelectricceramic and the type and application features of piezoelectric vibrator, the dualpiezoelectric wafer is selected as the oscillator of reciprocating feeder. By analyzingthe working principle and vibration modal of the double piezoelectric wafer, thetorsional vibration mode suitable for reciprocating feeder is found.The double piezoelectric wafer is conducted the theoretical analysis andexperimental researches, thus the influence relations of piezoelectric vibrator parameter on the performance of vibrator are obtained, and these conclusions areverified by the simulation analysis and experiment. The actual performance of thepiezoelectric vibrator is measured and the static characteristic and dynamiccharacteristic of the piezoelectric vibrator can be obtained. The torsional vibrationmodal and realization conditions of double piezoelectric wafer are sought bysimulation analysis, and the design scheme of double piezoelectric wafer can bedetermined based on these conditions.The overall structure of the reciprocating feeder is designed, and the differencesbetween reciprocating feeder and traditional linear feeder are analyzed, and theworking principle of the reciprocating feeder is discussed. The material selection,design and processing of the pedestal, adjusting pad, spring and top tray ofreciprocating feeder are analyzed respectively, thus the assembly process ofreciprocating feeder can be determined. The theoretical expressions of feederamplitude is given by analyzing the vibration of reciprocating feeder, and the factorsimpact on the natural frequency of the reciprocating feeder are determined.Finally, the finite element simulation analysis, modeling, meshing, the appliedload and the result post-processing are carried out on the complete machine by usingfinite element analysis software, and the front five-order model and correspondingfrequency of the complete machine are obtained. Then the performances ofreciprocating feeder are experimental measured, which mainly included the voltagecharacteristic, frequency characteristic, and the feeding speed consistency of two sidesof reciprocating feeder, and these characteristic curves are received by sorting theexperiment results.
