Plug-in hybrids are provided with a conventional internal combustion systems andelectric drive systems which is similar with common hybrid electric vehicles. But its batterycapacity is larger than conventional hybrid vehicles and it can use external power grids tocharge itself. Therefore, Plug-in hybrid are not only possessed with common advantages ofhybrid electric vehicle, but it also have long pure electric driving range as long as it can becharged by external power grids to extend its pure electric driving range. In this paper, Research is closely integrating with enterprise projects “control strategydevelopment project for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle”. Focus on how to use power ofthe battery more reasonable. Carry out research on plug-in hybrid control strategy anddivide Operating Modes and Driving Modes.Among them, operating modes include:Hybrid, Charge and Pure. Driving modes include: Sport and Economy. In summary, Inorder to achieve a reasonable distribution of battery power and the optimal target vehicleperformance this paper proposed the drive control strategy for plug-in hybrid based onmode selection of driver. The main contents are as follows:(1)Actual working conditions data of Changchun are collected and its analysis isprocessed. Develop the Changchun driving condition and three typical urban drivingconditions: congestion, smooth and high speed. Lay the foundation for later research.(2)The drive control strategy for plug-in hybrid based on mode selection of driver isproposed, System and hardware architecture are built. Torque distribution rules are alsoformulated.(3)The vehicle model is built under AVL/Cruise software and the controller model isbuilt under Matlab/Simulink software. The fuzzy recognizer is validated and thecomprehensive and objective simulation and comparison between the target and original isconducted. The simulation results showed rationality and effectiveness of the controlstrategy.
