Since the21st century, with the accelerating urbanization process, nationaleconomy and sustainable development put forward new requirements onbuildings and structures, a large number of abandoned or unplanned constructionneed to demolish. The old blasting methods are difficult to meet the needs ofcurrent development, the convenient and economic methods of demolitionblasting are gradually dominate the engineering field.Based on the current situation that the methods of demolition blastingengineering based on the experience and the lack of basic theory, with chimney,cooling tower and frame structure building as examples, this paper uses themechanical derivation and the method of contrasting between numericalsimulation and engineering, discusses the building collapse mechanism and themechanical changes of collapse processes.This paper discusses and makes the following conclusions:1. This paper builds mechanical model and equations of motion forbuildings, researches the collapse process’ mechanics problems, and makes readers a better understanding of the demolition blastingmechanism.2. Explicit to the implicit conversion method and common node separatemodeling method can effectively solve the problems that gravity loadcan’t exist uniformly at the start of the simulation in traditionalnumerical simulation and the problems that reinforcement and concretemechanics performance expression are not clear, etc.3. Using Ansys/ls-dyna numerical simulation software, the hundred metersabove the chimney, the elliptic cooling tower, the frame structurebuilding demolition’s numerical simulation results are compared withengineering in all aspects, the highly consistent conclusion shows thatthe accuracy and advantage of the numerical simulation technology.Compared with the previous studies, this paper has the certain innovationin research ideas and methods, expect to play a guiding role for demolitionblasting design works and other sides.
