Screw conveyor is a transportation equipment without flexible. It iswidely applied in various industries. It may be blocked or worn when itsworking environment is harshed. Its operation stability depends on thedesignation of parameters. At this paper, on such issues, setting the draditionalscrew conveyor as the object to research the paarameters designation andoptimization.This thesis describes the structure and operating principle of screwconveyor, analyses the conveyor design basis, builds the mathematical modelof its parameters designation, establishes the optimization of mathematicalmodel, confirms the main variable (parameters) which needs to be optimize,works out the constraints and objective function, seeks the best combination ofparameters.Due to the superiority of Java language, this thesis uses Java languagewhich combines the optimization mathematical model, writes the codes ofuser interface of interactive. Users can get the main design parameters ofscrew conveyor and can verify the reasonable of calculated parameters thoughsetting the material according to the needs of the relevant parameters. Thismethod saves time and improves efficiency.Calculate though the designation of the screw conveyor, then build thethree-dimensional model screw conveyor blades and U-shaped groove in UGand import the components and assenblies to Ansys to analyze fluid simulation. Compare the results of theoretical anasysis and simulation analysis, we can seethe stress on the blade is less than the allowable stress and is compliance withsafety design specifications.In the parameter optimization design,this thesis based on the geneticalgorithm, set the surface stress of twin screw conveyor blades and transportefficiency as the optimization target object, use a structural parameteroptimization design method which is based on orthogonal design responsesurface, optimize the design for the screw conveyor and finally obtain optimalstructural parameters. Using the examples to prove that optimizated screwconveyor improved its efficiency, improved the surface stress distribution of itsleaves and extended its service life.
