Because of the environment, geologic factors and its own reason loess hassome engineering characteristics that other clay soils doesn’t have, such as nobeddings, vertical development, collapsibility, and structure. Therefore the shearstrength of loess is a really big problem in engineering. So it is urgent to find apractical and effective method for reinforced loess. Therefore it is verymeaningful to study the shear strength of solidified loess in academic.Writer has study the effect factors and laws on shear strength for loess bylaboratory test and finite element analysis software. The main researchachievements are as followed.(1) Through the test of plastic-liquid limit, the liquid limit and plastic limitof solidified loess are determined. Through the compaction test, the optimummoisture content and maximal dry density of solidified loess are alsodetermined.(2) The moisture content and dry density are two major factors in the strength of loess. The cohesion of loess and internal friction angle greatlydecrease with the increase of moisture content, while the shearing strength of theloess increases with the increase of dry density, in both of internal friction angleand cohesion. Stress strain curve of loess are obtained.(3) The amount of SH, moisture content and dry density are the three majorfactors in the strength of solidified loess. The cohesion of solidified loess andinternal friction angle greatly decrease with the increase of moisture content,while the shearing strength of the solidified loess increases with the increase ofdry density, in both of internal friction angle and cohesion. So does the amountof SH. Multiple linear regression equation of solidified loess is obtained.(4) The way of dehydration is not related with the shear strength of loesssolidified by SH.(5) Compared the shear strength of loess and the shear strength of solidifiedloess. Analysis the effect of solidified agent of SH and advice solidified agentdosage is given.(6) The numerical simulation of the triaxial test of solidified loess which issolidified by SH has been analysis by ANSYS finite element software.Above all, comprehensive consider various factors which affecting SHsolidified loess. The writer suggest solidified agent of SH could be use inTaiyuan Shanxi province.
