The acceleration of urbanization process often leads to a large growth of the urban population, which makes the public traffic demand increase gradually. Urban rail transportation has become an important part of the urban public transportation system with the advantages of safety, high efficiency, reliability, convenience and light environment pollution. As the basis of subway operation and organization, the quality of train operating diagram has direct impacts on every part of the organizing work, making it necessary to analyze and evaluate the operating diagram’s quality reasonably and objectively. Different factors should be taken into account during the evaluation, and urban rail transit has high speed and density, so that a delay accident will not only influence the delayed train, but also the following trains, and this may cause serious delays along the whole route. So the ability to recover from delay is an important part of the synthetic evaluation. Motivated by these, this thesis mainly concentrates on the following problems:First, the train delay adjusting problem is studied. Based on the traditional model, build a new delay adjusting model with the distribution of arriving and departure time added to the adjusting target. Propose an improved genetic algorithm based on the self-adaptive crossover and mutation probabilities for solving the delay adjusting problem. The simulation reveals that the new model can help avoiding the situation that the trains arrive and depart very frequently in a certain period time, while in other periods they are relatively more decentralized. Besides, the improved genetic algorithm can avoid premature convergence and is more efficient.Then, the synthetic evaluating and optimizing method is studied. The calculating methods of different evaluating indices are presented:the basic operating indices and delay recovery indices are calculated based on the delay adjusting data; the stability indices are calculated by the recovery matrix which is generated by MAX-PLUS method; the energy saving index is based on the optimal allocation scheme of the total running time, which can be acquired by using Principle of Choosing Excellent. And then Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy AHP) is applied for integrating these indices and evaluating the operating diagram synthetically. The evaluating results could be used for optimizing the operating diagram. The simulation result verifies the feasibility of the evaluation and optimization method. Finally, according to the train operating diagram adjusting and evaluating theory, a train operating diagram adjusting and evaluating software based on the.NET Framework module is developed. This soft has operating diagram drawing, delay adjustment, synthetic evaluation and optimization and other functions. A simulation test according to a real subway line is conducted using this software. The test results can verify the evaluation and optimization method’s feasibility and provide evidence for delay adjustment and optimization of a train operating diagram.
