| ABSTRACT:As one of pivotal running components of a train, the wheel operating status is directly related to locomotive safety. The scratches on wheel tread lead to variational running status of a train and influence the normal operations of locomotives. Therefore, it is indispensable to dynamically detect the wheel tread scratches of a train. However, it is difficult to measure the scratches on wheel tread because of the bad railway site. Up to now, the manual measurement of scratches on wheel tread is extensively adopted in our country, which suggests great significance to explore an online system aiming at dynamically measuring scratches on wheel tread. In this paper, we first analyze and compare various methods of measuring the wheel tread in domestic and overseas. We adopt the online system of measuring the scratches on wheel tread based on a parallelogram configuration which inherently contains translational characteristics. With the help of two eddy current sensors installed on the parallelogram configuration, the scratches on wheel tread can be detected when the wheels roll through a measuring instrument which leads to the change of voltage values of the eddy current sensors. This paper mainly describes the following contents:â‘ We study a wheel with scratches rolls through steel rail from the aspect of kinematics and simulated the corresponding time responding curve about displacement, velocity and accelerated velocity.â‘¡we choose the models of the equipments related to the system, assemble them into a system based on the layout diagram and introduce functions for each part.â‘¢Tread scratches online dynamic measurement system based on the parallelogram configuration have also been calibrated.â‘£Meanwhile, we also do spot experiments for testing the measurement system, handle collected data by using two kinds of algorithms and compare two kinds of algorithm process. It is concluded that the precision of tread scratches online dynamic measurement system based on the parallelogram can be controlled within0.2mm. |
