Tire tread is one of the important parts of the tire,and the parameters of tire tread are important quality indexes and directly affect the quality of tire.At present,most tire factories in our country inspect the tread contour and length parameters by off-line manual sampling inspection.The artificial measuring process has low efficiency,high labor intensity and poor accuracy.Accordingly,the research and application of tire tread parameters online detection system has important theoretical significance and practical application value.In order to improve the measuring precision of tire tread size,an online measurement system in this dissertation is designed for the moving tire tread in the process of tire production.First,based on the coordinate data obtained by the 3D laser sensor,the profile curve of tire tread cross section can be plotted.Using method of B-spline curve fitting,the cross section data are calculated with finding out the feature points on the profile curve of tire tread cross section.Then,based on the CCD image sensor,using OSTU algorithm to accomplish image binary process and with help of setting baseline and adjustable light source,the length of tire tread can be calculated using the linear relationship between the number of pixels and the actual length.Experimental results in the real field indicate that the precision of the tread cross section measurement is less than 1mm,and the precision of the tread length measurement is less than 2mm.The measuring system proposed in this dissertation can satisfy the measurement requirements of production,which has the features of convenient installation,system stable operation etc.The experimental results show that the tire tread parameters online detection system developed in this dissertation can meet the needs of tire production process and has practical application value.
