With the rapid development of economy, electricity has become a very important source of energy. High voltage transmission lines are an important part of power transmission, and the iron tower which supports the lines plays a very important role. Meteorological disasters, geological collapse and loose soil in mining region thread stable operation of power grid seriously, and some malfunctions are even not sure the specific area. If the power transmission towers are monitored on-line, the malfunction can be found effectively and quickly or even be maintained and overhauled in advance.First, this thesis consults the research status at home and abroad of on-line monitoring for transmission tower, and designs a wireless tower state monitoring system based on the Internet of things technology. System consists of sensor acquisition terminal, wireless transmission and the monitoring center. System realizes the monitoring of tower’s temperature, humidity and tilt angle(according to the need to embed other quantity of state monitoring, such as voltage, current, wind speed, etc.), and sends the state data to the monitoring center through the ZigBee and GSM wireless communication network. The monitoring center shows the received data in real time and realizes the database storage, and provides the reference data for analysis tower running states.Angle acquisition terminal adopts CC2530 processor to control the three-axis acceleration sensor—MMA8451Q, and calls an improved algorithms to calculate the inclination angle; Wireless communication part combines ZigBee and GSM wireless communication technology, and sends the data to the monitoring center; the control interface is developed using Qt Creator, and transplanted Sqlite3 database; in experimental stage, the monitoring center is based on ARM processor, and realizes the touch control of the interface by transplanting the Linux system.This thesis makes performance testing for the wireless monitoring system under the laboratory, such as packet loss rate, precision and stability, and analyzes the reason of error. According to the test results, if the period of transmission is greater than 2s, there is no packet loss nearly; in the precision test experiments, if the inclination angle is greater than 3°, the error is low than 3.1%, and the system makes full use of the precision of the temperature and humidity sensor; And the test results show that the stability of the monitoring system of angle is quite high. This system needs to be test in field environment.
