| In recent years, China’s economic develops rapidly, but traffic congestion and room for survival getting narrowed are following, which promote the increasing in the engineering project of tunneling. Tunnel Boring Machine has become an important construction equipment in the projects, including railway tunnel, subway, west-east natural gas transmission project and so on. But the major components still have to be imported. What’s more, there is a certain gap with foreign countries in design and production of the disc cutter on TBM Optimizing the structure of cutter will improve the cutter’s serves life and provide reliable experience for its design.Disc cutters are the necessities of TBM to break the rock, and they are also easily frayed and damaged. The period and costs of tunnel engineering construction have the vital relation to the efficiency of breaking rock and bearing loads. By means of studying domestic literatures, summarizing the principles of breaking rock for disc cutters and listing the variable parameters which can affect the rock breaking, the finite element software was used to design and analyze the geometry structure of disc cutters. This article includes the following main contents:(1)Make analysis of rock-breaking mechanism of disc cutter, select the appropriate material properties of rock, list the main failure mode of rock in the breaking process of disc cutter, determine failure criterion of rock material, and make it closer to the actual rock-breaking conditions.(2)Obtain the geometrical parameters and material parameters of the asymmetrical edge cutter. Build rock-breaking model, based on the minimal bearing stress of disc cutters on the process of breaking rock and the asymmetrical cutter edge angle in normal installation of disc cutter.(3)Finally, make dynamic analysis for the model. Acquire the experimental data, including the forces, the specific energy etc. Compare these with the actual theoretical data, and analyze the efficiency of breaking rock. Optimize the models by changing the parameters of cutters. |
