Kailuan Easten mining area 35kV power network (referred to as Kailuan Easten Power Grid) is owned by Kailuan Group Company. It is mainly responsible for power supply to some factories like coal mines, coke plants, steel mills and so on. It has high requirements for the reliability of power supply. Through the introduction of Kailuan Easten Power Grid’s original operation way and Relay protection, this article unifies the former accident case, carries on the thorough analysis, the research, discovers the root of question to be at. Through the formulation reasonable solution, achieves relay protection and the production actual high unification.The paper has researched into the basic principles which the power grid should follow in the arrangement of the operation mode. Based on this research, the operation mode of Kailuan easten power grid is optimized. Through the simulation, the paper has compared the abilities of Kailuan power grid to resist disturbance and serious faults in the two operation modes. The line BZT device is introduced to Kailuan easten power grid. Before the introduction, the running of the spare lines need the participation of people and there are blackouts of long time in the substation when there are faults of operation lines. After the introduction of the line BZT device, the above problems have been solved. The paper has sorted out the parameters of the transformers and power supply lines in the substations of Kailuan easten power grid. Through the arrangement, three-phase short circuit currents under the maximum operation mode and two-phase short circuit currents under the minimum operation mode are calculated in the stations.On the basis of the above, the setting value of the installation of quick break protection is calculated. The paper has analyzed the operation characteristics of quick break protection in the longest and shortest lines of Kailun Power Grid. At the same time, the paper aslo puts forward some problems of quick break protection in the application of the short lines.According to power grid changes of the operation mode, the short power supply line and three terminal transmission lines and other issues, the essay puts forward anti override trip protection system of the whole network based on longitudinal differential protection and distribution automation technology.It is of great significance and value in the improvement of "Kailuan Power relay protection four", the security and stable operation of Kailuan Power system.
