Study On The Culture Of Central Plains And Henan Residential Architecture Form Language

In the era of "globalization" with great development, people’s lives are influenced by the various trends of thoughts. People accept blindly, absorbing advanced foreign ideas, but they ignore their own cultures, which can reflect on the construction. That is to say, more and more buildings only present people’s modern feelings, and there are no cultural connotations or no original architectural values in them. They even can not reflect the regional characteristics, so people see the same architectural forms wherever they are. In fact, since the early days, domestic and foreign architects have begun to study it in terms of construction and regional culture. However, having read much more information, I found that nowadays scholars usually only pay attention to the function of architecture when they study construction while students learn to architecture design just starting from the function of it. Although the biggest function of construction is its functionality, we have neglected function and form are inseparable. So function works through the form, and no form, no function. Therefore, I state architectural culture connotation in terns of architectural form language.At the mention of architectural culture connotation, residential buildings can best reflect architectural culture. Henan is a big province of rich culture with a long history. Residential forms are varied and have great values of research. Its residential development has been through a long period. Nevertheless, I found the information about Henan residential architecture is not so much during my investigation. That may be because, compared to Beijing courtyard, Jiangnan horsehead walls and Northern Shaanxi cave dwellings, there is not a lot information about Henan residential architecture, and Henan residence seems not to have special features to attract people’s attention. On the basis of this situation, I will analyze residential architectural form in Henan from the angle of architectural form language; on the basis of culture connotation of Central Plains, I will specifically research cultural inheritance and development of Henan architectural forms starting from the relations of architecture form language of Henan residence and the culture of Central Plains.This article has six chapters. The first chapter generalizes the article to conduct people to value the problem, introducing the background, the reasons for studying the problem, writing ideas and writing methods of the article. The second chapter is to understand clearly some theoretical concepts, to know what architectural form language is and what Central Plains culture is, and to introduce the characteristics of buildings form language of Henan residence. In addition, the second chapter is to find the links between the culture of Henan Central Plains and Henan residential forms language and to lay the theoretical foundation for Central Plains culture by Henan residential forms language. The third chapter is to analyze the current situation of architecture form language of Henan residence, to understand the current problems on the architecture form language of Henan residence and the reasons for it, and to pave the way for the following solutions. The fourth chapter is to analyze the investigation of some excellent cases of residential architectural design and some opposite ones at home and abroad and to summarize the reasons for the excellent cases and the opposite cases that cannot show the culture connotation. The fifth chapter is to propose my opinions and to generalize the solutions to the issue of the architecture form language of Henan residence breaking away from Central Plains culture on the basis of the previous cases. The last chapter is to let the previously proposed solutions apply to the actual cases to verify whether my theoretical design is feasible or not.
