The Study Of Semiotics In The Symbolic Architecture Designs Of The Central Plains

This paper studies the semiotics of symbolic architectures in the Central region of China based on two reasons.First,as the urbanization process and the development of urban construction activities accelerate,are emerging in large numbers as the representations of the cities.However,under the influence of globalization,regional cultures are strongly impacted and the similarities in urban architectures is becoming a more serious problem.Many places blindly pursuit the architectural structures in their urban development activities,while neglecting the deeper meanings and the unique characteristics of the cities that architectures are meant to express.Public acceptance and their psychological needs were also not taken into consideration,resulting in the aimless pursuit of building heights and differences,making them all look alike.The second reason is the cultural influence of the Central region.Generally speaking,the Central region architectural culture covers regions from the Yellow River basin to Northern China.It can also be extended to the architectural culture in the Confucian cultural transmission region.The study of semiotic theory can capture the architectural culture elements in the Central region,and can be applied in the analysis of architectural works.Semiotics theory views symbolic architectures as a system,studies it scientifically with consideration in regional culture.On one hand,it effectively helps people to understand the symbolic architectures of the Central region more comprehensively and in-depth.On the other hand,it builds up a bridge of interaction between the user and the architecture,so that the people can have a sense of intimacy,identity and belonging.This paper compiles and analyzes the findings obtained from surveys,field research,and studies from other researchers on symbolic architectures from the Central region.This paper examines the development process and pattern of symbolic architectures in the Central region from a historical,cultural,and psychological perspective.This study of semiotics will reveal and identify current issues with the creation and the structural design of symbolic architectures in the Central region of China,and aim to cooperate the unique culturalcharacteristics into the individual symbolic architectures designs,leaving a more profound impression of the symbolic architectures in the public's eye.
