| The Gas Insulated Substation(GIS) is the electrical equipment which enclosed all the electrical equipments except the transformers in a grounded metal enclosure. In the GIS, SF6 plays a role in insulation and arc media. It has a safe and reliable operation, long maintenance cycle, easy installation, etc., and has been widely used in domestic power system. GIS insulation condition is directly related to the safe operation of the equipment and the stablility of the system. For the GIS on-line insulation monitoring, partial discharge detection is one of the effective means, and also the signs and manifestations of the insulation deterioration. The paper describes the causes and mechanism of GIS partial discharge, and compared the two most commonly used method of partial discharge on-line monitoring methods: the Ultrasonic method and the the Ultra High Frequency method. Analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the two methods in terms of partial discharge monitoring, a brief introduction of maintenance of the GIS equipments and cables was carried out. Seperately from the hardware and software systems, the cable terminal of GIS partial discharege monitoring system was designed.According to the actual situation of Shijiazhuang Power Company, the cable terminal of GIS partial discharege monitoring system was designed with ultrasonic method and applied it to the power company, and achieved great results. |
