| Earthquake, a sudden natural disaster, threatens people’s lives and property. The method of pasting fiber polymer is usually used to reinforce the existing dissatisfied structure. It is important to the earthquake precaution. Basalt fiber reinforced polymer (BFRP) is a new kind of environmental protection material which is made of basalt. Compared to the normal carbon fiber, it has the characteristic of abundant raw material, access easily, inexpensiveness. It’s worth to research on the area of building seismic hardening.This paper conducted tensile test respectively on the basalt fiber polymer and carbon fiber polymer to study their material property preliminarily. Then, using the idea of orthogonal experiment, the author considered three factors which are the number of fiber polymering wrapper, material of fiber polymer and stirrup spacing, and, selected three levels in each factor, designed nine reinforced concrete pillars of which three are unreinforced, six are reinforced. Finally, conducted low frequency cyclic loading experiment separately to the nine pillars and got their failure characteristics, hysteretic curve, bearing capacity and dissipation capacity.From the experimental data, the following conclusions can be got:the strength of extension in basalt fiber is worse than that in carbon fiber, but the limited strain and the ductility of basalt fiber is better; using the fiber polymer on the reinforce reinforced concrete column could improve its bearing capacity, ductility and energy consuming performance to make it better in anti-seismic property; along with the number of wrapper plies of fiber polymer increasing, the effect of reinforcement improves gradually, moreover, the efficiency of reinforcement doesn’t decrease within three plies; along with the stirrup spacing decreasing, the anti-seismic property of samples improve gradually too, and, the influence of stirrup spacing on anti-seismic property is less than that of the material of fiber polymer and the number of piles; the influence of material of fiber polymer on anti-seismic property is the most, furthermore, the reinforcement effect of basalt fiber polymer is better closely than that of carbon fiber polymer in energy performance, therefore, the basaltic fiber polymer is worth to be promoted in the actual anti-seismic reinforcement project. |
