Management of low voltage distribution network is an important content of power supply enterprise. Low voltage distribution network has much distribution equipment, the structure of the distribution network is complicated and the data quantity is complex. With the accumulation of basic data, using the traditional management mode to manage the low voltage distribution network is not only inefficient, but also increasingly unable to meet the requirements of informatization, automation, intelligent and network management for modern power supply enterprise.Geographic information system is a computer application system used in storage, query, display and analysis of geographic data. The space data in geographic information system is comprehensive, and the data type is various, the data updating is convenient. The data in the database can be shared to other systems, and provide comprehensive information for users of the system. The method of visualization and dynamic performance is more intuitive and easy to understand. With the development of geographic information system, its application in electric power system is more and more wide. The application of geographic information system in the power distribution network management has become an inevitable trend.Based on this, the paper putted forward the conception of building low-voltage distribution network geographic information system. The paper combined with the application situation of power supply enterprise geographic information system, summarized the characteristic of geographic information system for distribution network, focused on the study of secondary development and the platform of secondary development, and selected the suitable platform.In view of the present situation of the low-voltage distribution network management of Fengning County, the paper conducted the demand analysis and overall design of the GIS. And on this basis, integrated application of computer technology, database technology, communication technology and remote sensing technology and so on, using MapServer as the development platform of distribution network geographic information system, using Oracle and Mongo DB as the system backstage database, using the JavaScript as the main programming language, at the same time using Visual Studio 2008 as the main programming tool of the system, using B/S software development model, developed the low-voltage distribution network GIS for power supply enterprise.
