The Research And Application Of BIM Technology In Design Of Secondary-Development Of Steel Structure Joints

Building Information Modeling(BIM) is the future trend of the building industry. By studying the BIM technology, it could control and manage Life Cycle Cost of building in the Steel Structure Project. Besides, BIM highly integrates the programming, the design, the construction quantity &execution and all the relevant information of operational maintenance after completion.What's more, BIM is beneficial to improve the quality of design & construction and reduce the cost of project,and BIM also will benefit its application and popularization of Building Industry and contribute to raise the productivity of Building Industry continuously.Secondary-development as an important part of the core BIM modeling software, providing an important guarantee for complex steel structure projects and satisfying the users on their individualized requirements. This article analyzes characteristics of BIM, then it describes modeling system of steel structure joints on the secondary-development, finally it presents the BIM application of steel structure joints.Combining with the example of Bama five-star hotel project in Guangxi, and based on the BIM core software, this paper carries out three dimensional modeling of steel structure joint, elaborates the detail design of joint in specific design, and studies the joint of member bar of BIM model, to realize the concrete application of the secondary development technology in steel structure engineering.Results show that, compared with the general BIM system modeling method, the use of parametric modeling combined with the secondary development technology which needs less programming code, speed is faster, err-or rate is less, achieving the desired effect in practical application process of Bama hotel project, which is the active exploration of the secondary development technology in the steel structure engineering design.
