Recently, with increasing in the quantity and capacity of the wind power generation set, the fault rate of the wind power generation set is also increasing, especially the big parts’ fault, such as the main bearing, gear case and generator. It greatly increases the running and maintenance cost for the wind power generation set. To ensure the main bearings of the wind power generation set running efficiently, safely and reliably, the research and exploitation for the bearings online condition monitoring and fault diagnosis system is of great significance. The research content of this paper is as follows:1.The configuration and fundamental of wind power generation are introduced, and the fault types and characteristics of the main bearings are studied. The fault diagnosis and early warning method for the main bearings are discussed. By combining the main bearing fault mechanism, fault diagnosis technique and monitoring function requirements, the designing scheme of the fault diagnosis and early warning system for the main bearings of the wind power generation set is put forward.2. The intrinsic frequency and fault frequency are analyzed and calculated amply The oscillation signal characteristics of the main bearing in wind power generation set under different fault conditions are analyzed and summarized.3. Various analyzing methods suitable for oscillation signals of the main bearings are discussed detailedly and their applicabilities are compared., The calculation program for oscillation signals analyzing is developed.4. Design about fault diagnosis and early warning system for the main bearing in wind power generation set is discussed detailedly, including basic design idea, hardware configuration, software environment, program design for data collecting module and analyzing module. The detailed design for the main bearings fault diagnosis and early warning system in wind power generation set for GuoDian United Power Technology Company LTD,which is called GUPCMS-1000 system,is realized in the end.5. By analyzing two examples, the GUPCMS-1000 system’s functions are illuminated detailedly. Finally, the development direction of the system towards more intelligent and smart is prospected.
