Distribution equipment maintenance is a vital content of daily operations in local power system. The interests of both power supply enterprises and users are concerned with the quality of equipment maintenance schedule. At present, with the continuous development of power grid and the improvement of power equipment manufacturing level, traditional corrective maintenance system and schedule maintenance system cannot meet the demands for highly reliable power supply. As an efficient and economic maintenance mode, condition based maintenance has become an effective means of optimizing power grid equipment management.In view of the practical situation of current distribution equipment condition maintenance and the mainly existed problems, distribution equipment condition based maintenance strategy has been systematically studied in this paper. The problems involved in condition based maintenance such as the status evaluation process, risk assessment system, the failure probability calculation, maintenance scheme optimization and auxiliary software development have been deeply discussed. This paper puts forward some ideas, models and algorithms which are applicable to distribution equipment condition based maintenance. The main contents are as follows:1) To solve the problem that equipment maintenance mode selection does not include equipment health index, maintenance costs and loss of equipment failure, a corresponding decision-making model considering the above elements for distribution network equipment maintenance mode selection is proposed. The model aiming at the minimizing the sum of maintenance cost and the equipment risk loss after maintenance, choosing the distribution network equipment maintenance mode by the quantitative method, not only reflects the cost variance of different maintenance modes and the improvement degree of the equipment, but also considers the loss caused by equipment failure, making the maintenance decision-making more scientific and reasonable.2) Direct at the selectiveness of equipment maintenance mode to certain deteriorated equipment under the background of condition based maintenance, considering that different maintenance modes produce various effects on the maintenance decision-making and equipment condition promotion, this paper adopts a method based on risk assessment. An optimized model for distribution network maintenance decision-making is established, and maintenance time and mode are the two variables for the optimization target. Combined with the specific features, an improved PSO algorithm is applied to solve the model. IEEE—RBTS Bus2 system is shown to illustrate the rationality and validity of the proposed model.3) Based on the theory of this study, the design and development of maintenance schedule optimization software have been realized. Large number of distribution network equipment of different kinds result in large workload of formulating maintenance schedule. Based on the existing theoretic research results, this paper using C # language as development tool, completing the development of distribution network maintenance schedule optimization software, effectively improve the lean management level of distribution network condition based maintenance work.
