Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete(SFRC) is the material mixed with a certain volume ratio of Steel Fiber in the concrete, which has better ductility and durability. Steel fibers significantly improve the performance of concrete, and make big difference to the deformation and failure pattern of common concrete beam.In this paper, we did the study of steel fiber reinforced concrete beams, formodifying the cracking of concrete beam.In this paper, a reinforced concrete T-beam and four concrete T-beams with steel fibers are experimented. In the process of experiments, we specifically examined the concrete crack development and extension. At the same time, The changes of the deflection and the stress of web plate concrete, and the cracking load and ultimate bearing capacity were measured. According to the measured data, we analyzed the relationship of beam’s load and deflection, the crack distribution characteristicsand web plate concrete stress changes with different steel fibers volume. The results show that the capacitywas improved with the increasing of steel fibers within a certain range.Steel fibers can partially replace the bar at the shear span and bearings, but cannot completely replace the reinforcement stirrups.Nonlinear finite element software ANSYS was used in the paper. In order to achieve better simulation results, we did a lot of trials on the model parameter selection, loading methods and convergence criterion and so on.The results show that calculated load-deflection curve, smeared crack distribution, cracking load and ultimate load are in good conformation with the experimental results.
