With the steady growth of the number of cars, the so called "vehicle afterindustry"–The Car Washing Industry has continued to expand and flourish.Because of government regulations, the car wash shops can only be located faraway from downtown. Car owners have to pay lots of resources to wash theircars. The traditional way of washing cars lead to great waste of water resources,and does not conform to the requirements of sustainable development. Thus,there emerges the self-service car washing machine. Due to the equipmentdevelops relatively late, the functions of most majority of the products is single,it generally only has the function of simple flushing. The user will be confrontedwith a lot of inconvenience because of no considering the design of theman-machine engineering design. It is put forward in accordance with the designconcept of the user operation in order to let more users understand and useartificial self-help washing device based on the principle of ergonomics in thispaper.Firstly, through research and access to large numbers of information, thepaper analyzes the self-service washing machines for sale on market now. Finally the article puts forward some Suggestions of improvement and somepractical new functions.Based on the relevant knowledge of ergonomic theory, a self-service carwash with customer’s using habit is designed. The anthropometry data is appliedinto the design. This paper concludes the humanized design of components’configuration and size of the self-service car wash. In the end, according to theknowledge of product form design, the body style, color, material and otheraspects of the self-service car wash is discussed. A design scheme is proposed inthis paper.In the end, The article makes summary and expectation on the design of theself-service washing machines. Such as the problems encountered in the designof the analysis, and it also puts forward the design ideas for such products, andso on. We look forward to design more products that accord with ergonomic inthe future.
