Because of its large capacity,high efficiency and low cost characteristics,the heavy haul railway transportation is the international railway freight technology development trend and widely regarded by the world railway. In China, after nearly 30 years of unremitting efforts, Datong-Qinhuangdao Line(“Daqin Line”) has operated the heavy haul train of 5000-ton, 10000-ton and 20000-ton one after another. Heavy haul transport technology has achieved important results and is at the forefront of the world. In 2013, in order to achieve technological re-innovation of china heavy haul and reserve technology for increasing transport capacity of Daqin Line, China Railway Corporation decided to test the 30000-ton combined heavy haul train.Based on the trail of the 30000-ton combined heavy haul train, the simulation, test design, testing and data analysis are carried out. On the basis of previous experimental data analysis and simulation calculation, this paper establishes the simulation model of the traction & brake & longitudinal dynamics system. The preferred train formation of the 30000-ton combined heavy haul train is chosen by comparison of simulation results.By drawing lessons from previous test results and practical operating experience of the 20000-ton combined heavy haul train on Daqin line, the paper analyzes 4 aspects such as the communication reliability, train longitudinal force, middle locomotive safety, power supply voltage fluctuation which affect safe operation of the 30000-ton combined heavy haul train, and then puts forward countermeasures.The paper presents the organization and implementation of static and dynamic test of the 30000-ton combined heavy haul train. The test points layout scheme and test plan are emphasized. Safety evaluation indexes of different majors such as locomotive and freight car dynamics, longitudinal coupler force, are proposed. A lot of experimental data is analyzed. Some conclusions and suggestions are obtained.The first test of the 30000-ton combined heavy haul train on Daqin line which uses existing equipment conditions and Locotrol DP is an exploratory study. A new traction weight record of China heavy haul train is created. It speeds up the innovation of heavy haul technology, and provides the technical reserve for the further upgrading of heavy haul transportation, and has great significance for the research of heavy haul transportation technology in China.
