Heavy-haul combined-train is an important way of railway transportation in China. Synchronous brake system is a core device of heavy-haul combined-train, on-line diagnosis for which is related to guarantee for the safety of combined-train. As the related research in China is relatively inadequate, it is significant in theory and in practicality that the design on the on-line fault diagnosis system for synchronous brake system of heavy-haul combined-train using reasonable and useful fault diagnosis technology.Synchronous brake system of heavy-haul combined-train is a hierarchical, modular, distributed complex system with variable structure, in which the interactive relations among inner modules is complex and flexible. Considering of the above characteristics, the on-line diagnosis system for synchronous brake system of heavy-haul combined-train using fault diagnosis technology based on MAS(multi-agents systems) theory is designed in this paper.In this paper, the diagnosis system has a bilayer structure, in which subsystem is set into every locomotive of combined-train and these subsystems contact with each other via wireless communication and can combine to a complete system by flexible combination mechanisms, which meet the characteristics of the variable combination formation of combined-train.Diagnose resources is formed to agents in this system, MAS of bilayer structure is designed, formatting an effective management and scheduling for agents and achieving a flexible and effective allocation of diagnosis resources, in response to the dynamic changes for the diagnosis problems.Because of that the coordination solution for diagnosis tasks is crucial for this diagnosis system, a method of coordination solution for diagnosis tasks based on dynamic coalition is designed, in which three key issues are analyzed and answered, including: (l)the method of task decomposition which is synthetically according as structure and function of the diagnosis object; (2)the scheme of bilayer distribution of tasks based on the theory of market principle; (3)the establishing operation of diagnosis coalition.The application and realization of the diagnosis system in the HXD1 combined-train are finished. The hardware platform, software design, operating parameters of the diagnosis system are implemented, while work instances and diagnosis results show that the system is feasible and effective.
