Due to the global energy crisis and reconfiguration of energy structure, more and more attention has been placed on the exploitation and utilization of lignite and other low grade-coal. China enjoys an abundant lignite reserve which makes it an economical and viable approach to exploit and utilize lignite. However, the history of lignite application in China is rather short, there are a lot of lessons have been learned during the course of technology introduction, assimilation and development, therefore some valuable experiences need to be reviewed and summarized. In this paper we studied Harbin Boiler 660MW Supercritical Boilers used by a ShangDu power plant, analysis of the characteristics of the coal-fired boiler high moisture lignite, slagging characteristics and high moisture lignite burning advantages and disadvantages; By understanding the actual operation of the boiler problems and design cases, the cause of this type of boiler main steam temperature low side factors were analyzed, and adopt a new approach using Study on radiation heat transfer in boiler furnaces by taking radiant intensity attenuation in cross section into consideration to the overall heat boiler systems more accurate thermodynamic calculations, through the analysis of thermodynamic calculations to identify the main cause of boiler steam temperature low side real reason. In order to solve the problems in boiler operation, this paper uses to change the boiler radiation-heating surface area and coal-water ratio two different methods to adjust for the main steam temperature, and thermodynamic calculation has been done for the boiler structure and operating conditions improved verify that the improved results and find the most suitable heating surface structure and operating conditions.
