Facing the severe resource and environmental situation, the rich solar energy resources of China provide a way to deal with the problem.Based on the existing solar thermal technology and the status of China’s power industry, solar-aided coal-fired power generation technology can not only reduce the heavypollution but also improve the performance of solar thermal power generation. It has the advantages of both solar energy and coal-fired power generation and can avoid their shortcomings at the same time which is a new way for building a sustainable electric power generation system.In this paper, as to the technical characteristics of solar-aided coal-fired power generation system based on volume expanding evaporative steam generationsystem, thermal economic state equation is used for modeling and Matlab language is used for simulation. The conclusions on system integration and operation is as follows:A static analysis is conducted and the result shows that different integration patterns significantly improved the units’ operation performance and the changes in integration pattern have a great impact on the collector fiels performance and the system economic indicators, extraction degree has a linear relationship with the units’ performance and no obvious relationship with collector fields performance and affect the system economic indicators a lot. The exergy analysis shows that increasing the total exergy lost but improving the exergy efficiency of other parts, recuding the unit energy cost but improving the unit non-energy cost, the introduction of solar-aided system significantly affected by the integration patterns.Dynamic analysis shows that system performance is almost in line with the trend of direct normal insolation and due to season changes, operational performance of the hybrid system is also showing seasonal characteristics。The technical ecomics analysis shows that the solution of sustituting 5,7,8extraction steam is not practicable and the solution of substituting 1,2extraction steam is feasible. The electric price is a main sensitivity factor in the solution of sustituting lextraction steam. The cost of electic generation is relatively low and not changes much under different patterns which indicating that the hybrid system has a high commercial value.
