Discussions About The Relationship Between Sculpture Art And Modern Landscape Architecture

Landscape and sculpture both have a long history. With the rising of the modern art movement, there are showing a trend of collision and penetration between these two disciplines. The breakthroughs and development of sculpture had a profound impact on the promotion of modern landscape. In the process that sculpture closely associated with the modern landscape, sculpture also guide the direction to the development of modern landscape.From the aspects about modern landscape and sculpture, this paper firstly analyzes how they crossed own boundaries to develop during their historical development, identifies similarities and differences between the two;secondly, explores the expansion of sculpture’s own property to modern landscape in abstract expression, releasing space,materials innovation, interaction enhance;thirdly, explores the absorption of sculpture art language for garden plants, architecture, and terrain, and shows out the tendency of sculpture in modern landscape. Finally, taking sculpture tendency as the main research object, this paper analyzes the relationship between modern landscape and sculpture, and concludes their association pattern of abstract geometric forms, natural and symbolic reference. Meanwhile, it makes recommendations on how to tap sculptural language with Chinese characteristics, how to use innovation to stimulate contemporary visual conversion,how to pull into the distance with the public, and provides more reference and possibility to create featured landscape in modern era.
