As the scope of power system become larger, the impact of blackout will be more and more serious. Thus it is very important to work out reasonable and efficient black-start schemes. This paper investigates three technical verifications, including the switching over-voltage, self-excitation and the stabilization of voltage and frequency when auxiliary load is started, and develops a multiple evaluation software of power system black-start. The software is developed in VS2010 environment by using the programming language C#. It has a friendly interface and is convenient to operate. The data source of this software comes from the data which is used by BPA. In the development of the software, some functions have be developed such as semi-automatic drawing of geographical single-line diagrams and modification of data source in the interface of the software. In addition, the technical verifications, including the switching over-voltage and the stabilization of voltage and frequency when auxiliary load is started, can show the waveform of the results by using the digital simulation technique. However the verification of self-excitation is completed by the engineering criterion. The information about verifications and the stations of the black-start schemes can be saved in a word document. The software runs successfully when it used the field data in Hebei Southern Power Grid. Some of research results have been used in "The Intelligent Decision Support System of Yunnan Power Grid Black-start Restoration". The above practical test and applications indicate that the software designed with proposed method has good validity and generality. Research and development of the software has important practical value in making the black-start restoration schemes.
