Wind energy is one of the world’s fastest growing renewable energy sources which own the most large-scale development and commercialization in new energy generation technologies. In recent years, the rapid development of China’s wind energy has contributed to attract a large number of young technicians and operational personnel to wind energy companies. How to train new staff fasterly, and improve manufacturing operations and incident handling capability of operating personnel in order to make them competent for their work as soon as possible, has become the most pressing issues. The best way to solve these issues is to build up an accurate and effective wind farm simulation system which could simulate the operating conditions of actual wind farms. The project has studied on the research and application of wind farm simulation system, the main contents are:1. Analysis of the structure and function of the wind farm simulation system. Introduction of the features and methods of modeling establishment algorithm related to the simulation support platform STAR-90.2. Select the double-fed asynchronous type VSCF(variable speed constant frequency) wind turbines(DFIG) as the simulation object, analysis the operating performance of variable speed constant frequency power principle under different wind conditions. Deeply study of the power equipment and electrical equipment in double-fed asynchronous motor group, establish mathematical models of wind speed, wind turbine, transmission, double-fed asynchronous motor and converter. Analysis of the mathematical models of power and grid control theory of generating units, built mathematical models of the maximum wind energy tracking control, grid-side converter control, load and network control.3. Based on STAR-90 simulation support sytem, build up equipment and control simulation simulation system of DFIG with the studied mathematical model and constructed algorithms and modules. Through simulation experiments to verify the accuracy and validity of the theory in the project and the construction simulation system.
