With the augment of construction span, the irrationality of one singular type of space reticulated structure’s mechanical behavior is also exposed. A new type of prestressed spatial structure system!the cable-supported three-centered cylindrical latticed shell mega-structure system is put forward in this article. This is a new kind of hybrid spatial structure based on the combination of cable-supported structure, cylindrical latticed shell structure and mega-structure. Compared with the ordinary cylindrical latticed shell or the cable supported barrel vault structure, this new kind of structure is more rational and applicable to projects. With the advantages like each member bar makes a distinction between the important and the lesser one, and the force transferring path is logical, this new type of structure makes it possible to cross a larger span than we can reach now.This paper introduced the characteristics, composition and classification of the cable-supported three-centered cylindrical latticed shell mega-structure system. It also summarized research status and achievements during these year at home and abroad, and put forward the problems need to be solved. By using the finite element program MSTCAD and MIDAS, linear theory analysis of this new structure system is performed. First, the division of the cylindrical latticed shell mega-structure is analyzed, and on this basis, I compared the influence of different cable arrangement plans, through the finite element program MIDAS, and confirmed the optimal plan of mesh generation and cable arrangement. Next, conventional design were made to get the common technical indicators like stress, deformation, steel consumption, and mode of vibration. Based on the conventional design, a optimization design is performed to the structure. Then, by analyzing the influence of the failure(including fracture and relaxation) of different cable element on the structure, the safety assessment of it is performed. Last, I calculated and compared the results of linear buckling analysis of the conventional design, the optimization design, and the design scheme considering the influence of substructure. The study provides a certain theoretical basis for the design of similar projects.The cable-supported three-centered cylindrical latticed shell mega-structure efficiently implement the combination of prestress and reticulated mega-structure, thus it’s more economical than general cylindrical shell and has the ability to cross lager space than the corresponding structure under the action of the prestress. By extending the high-strength steel cable on the proper position of the reticulated mega-structure, the opposite deformation can be obtained and the forced state cab be improved so that the stiffness and stability of this structure can be ameliorated. Besides, the distribution of member forces of structure can be more uniform through introducing prestressing properly. I believe the cable-supported three-centered cylindrical latticed shell mega-structure will be widely applied in practical engineering in the future.
