Asphalt mixtures is widely used as flexible pavement material in advanced highway and urban road. However, crack caused by load effect leads to the reduction of pavement structure bearing capacity and service life. How to prevent pavement cracking is a popular topic of road engineering. This manuscript investigates the evaluation of the cryogenic property of asphalt mixture. Main content is as follows. In chapter 1-3, the mechanism of asphalt pavement cracks in low temperature was analyzed, and common test method as well as evaluation index were introduced, then the viscoelastic characteristics of asphalt mixture were described in detail. In chapter 4, Burgers model was chose as the viscoelastic constitutive model of asphalt mixture. Stress relaxation experimental datas at different temperatures were fitted with nonlinear least square method and viscoelastic parameters of Burgers model were gained. The viscoelastic parameters model related to Burgers model were established. The viscoelastic parameters model could predict the thermal stresses ofasphalt mixture specimen at certain temperature and provide references to predicting the cracking of asphalt pavement in low temperature. In chapter 5, in order to gain suitable test method and evaluation index of the cryogenic property of asphalt binder, the relevancy of several evaluation indexes reflecting cryogenic property of asphalt mixture and frozen broken temperature tested by thermal stress restrained specimen test was calculated. And the grey correlation degree of several indexes and frozen broken temperature were analyzed. This investigation provides references to determining rational low temperature evaluation indexes.
