As national economy grows rapidly, China’s energy consumption also increases at geometric rate. But most energy is non-renewable, so how to use energy and save energy reasonably have become important issues all over the word. The energy units scheduling problem is modeled and optimally studied, which is extracted from the actual production of energy. The problem is a high-dimensional, non-convex, discrete, nonlinear combinatorial optimization problem, belonging to NP-hard problem. So Lagrangian relaxation algorithm based on the variable splitting is designed to solve the problem. In energy production, production scheduling optimization results can be directly affected by predicted values of energy parameters. In this paper, in order to provide parameters for energy units scheduling problem, energy media forecasting system is designed to predict consumption of energy media,This paper’s work can be summarized as follows:(1) This paper researches the problem of energy units scheduling problem which is abstracted from productive circumstance. Besides unit’s pressure characteristics, it also considers minimum unit’s startup & shutdown constraints, climbing constraints and combination of limitations. Mixed integer mathematical programming model is established.(2) According to model characteristics of the problem, Lagrangian relaxation algorithm method based on the variable splitting is designed. By introducing a copy of the original variables, equation constraint and demand constraint are put to the objective function by lagrangian multiplier. The problem is decomposed into two subproblems. Dynamic programming method is used to solve subproblem with climbing constraints by unit’s startup & shutdown state. The subproblem with pressure Constraints is solved by linear optimization software. A large number of randomly generated examples are tested and its results are compared with CPLEX optimization software. The experiment results show that the algorithm proposed by this paper is very effective.(3) In order to provide reasonable and effective parameters for energy units scheduling, the energy media forecasting system is developed, which can forecast the demand of energy medium and other technical parameters, which could help to provide scientific and accurate basis for analysis of energy units scheduling.
