The research and application of electronic transformers(ECT) have been carried out for many years in domestic and abroad. There ware related products available and put into use since the eighties of the last century.The research started later in domestic, but with the development of technology, the products of electronic transformers have run more than ten years in network, during the time we accumulated a lot of experience, but also discovered many problems and defects, which pointed out the direction for the further development of electronic transformer technology. According to the current research and problems in applicatio n, with theoretical analysis we found that the electronic transformer is a device with dynamic response behavior, but so far, there is no research on electronic transformers dynamic response behavior and countermeasure. For this situation, this research designed a set of dynamic characteristics test methods and a test system, hoping to provide a new method for the testing of electronic transformer’s performance from the new perspective of the dynamic characteristics test, achieve the purpose of promoting the development and progress of electronic transformers technology, ultimately.For the dynamic characteristics test of electronic transformer, this article carrys out the theoretical analysis and functional implementation from the following aspects:(1) For the measurement of time-delay, this project designed a new method originality, which combines with hardware and software, the actual tests show that this method has high accuracy and stability.(2) Steady-state response analysis is based on Fourier transform, evaluate the steady-state response capabilities of electronic transformer by the analysis of the harmonic and phase changes between the input and output signals respectively.(3) The extraction of the non-periodic component is to extract the non-periodic signal from transient period of the grid, this paper gives three methods: point by point fourier transform, discrete wavelet packet transform and mathematical morphology, and the comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of the three methods.(4) Harmonic and Traveling Wave Transfer characteristic analysis is used to evaluate the mass change capability of the function(protection and measurement, traveling wave) signal of merging units(MU).(5) Step output is used to figured out the sampling error of the high- frequency signal, which enter the sampling model(Fixed acquisition time) at any time.Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the results of this research can be used to test the dynamic response characteristics of electronic transformers, analysis the impact of relay behaviors, detect the harmonic characteristics and provide technical means to improve the performance of the electronic transformers.
