The Electronic Tripping Unit Of Moulded Case Circuit Breaker

With the improvement of people’s living standard, social production and people’s life more and more rely on the use of electricity. Since increasingly importance has been attached to electricity, the reliability requirements of power supply are becoming higher and higher, which promotes the functions of protecting electrical equipment in both high and low voltage to be more and more consummate. Being a member of the low-voltage electrical appliances, Molded Case Circuit Breaker had developed rapidly, especially in the domain of molded case circuit breakers tripping device technology. It has experienced several generations of products since the electronic tripping device of circuit breaker first developed by foreign countries in early 1960 s. In recent years, the development of electronic technology leads the further technological innovation in the Electronic Trip Unit.This paper mainly focuses on the design of the Electronic Tripping Unit.According to the requirements of the electronic tripping device applications, this paper describes the need for basic technical targets, software and hardware design of the Electronic Tripping Unit based on these technical targets. In terms of hardware design, it primarily contains the sampling system design(including circuit simulation), power supply system design and MCU system design. In software fields, it mostly involves both main and other function programs. Meanwhile, in order to improve the reliability of the whole system, the EMC design of the electronic tripping device is also considered.By designing hardware, software, electromagnetic compatibility, etc., an electronic tripping device that can be utilized in actual construction is achieved. In this case of producing electronic tripping device, the electronic tripping device has superior performance, strong environmental adaptive capacity and electromagnetic compatibility, and high extendibility.After finishing related designing, the Electronic Tripping Unit is applied to the Molded Case Circuit Breaker and tested through related communication testing programs. The testing result proofs thatthe specifications of electronic tripping device on the basis of this kind of design technology scheme can meet the requirements of designing Molded Case Circuit Breaker.
