Double-row tapered roller bearing is one of the key components of high-speed rail axis box. The roller load distribution and fatigue life are directly related to job performance and reliability, which affects the carrying capacity of high speed rail and safe operation. Therefore, the research of mechanical properties of double row tapered roller bearings and fatigue life is very important.Taking double-row tapered roller bearing of high-speed railway coach as research object, mechanical model is set up in consideration of the centrifugal force and gyroscopic. Load distribution is solved by program and different parameters of the bearing and bearing speed has influence on bearing load. With the increase of roller contact angle, roller length and number of rollers, the maximum load of rollers decrease. The speed of train has little effect on the load distribution ofbearings.Finite element contact models of rollers with raceways have been established in the ANSYS WORKBENCH environment. The status of stress distribution between roller and raceways under contact loadings was analyzed. In considerations of effective length of rollers and contact angle and the number of rollers, there are impacts on contact stress. The roller edge produces stress concentration when contact angle is too small. It produces concentrated stress which moves to the central roller when contact angle is too large. The similar length of roller and roller width is to avoid stress concentration. The stress of roller decreases when number of roller reduces.Under actual operation, the fatigue life of bearing is an important factor in the safe and reliable operation of high-speed rail. Considering the effects of centrifugal force and gyroscopic moment, the load distribution of the rollers is calculated more accurately. In according to the theory of fatigue life, studying the structure of bearing and the external workers condition which have effects on fatigue life. With the increase of contact angle and the effective length of roller and the number of rollers, fatigue life of bearings increase. With the increase of external load and the speed, the fatigue life ofbearings reduces.
