The object of this paper is tapered roller bearings of the high speed railway axle box in our country, which are all used export products. Therefore, to improve the fatigue life of bearing, the research on the tapered roller bearing of high speed railway axle box has both academic value and great application value.Through the calculation of internal load distribution of tapered roller bearing and the force analysis, the fatigue life formula of tapered roller bearings has been derived. The bearing fatigue life calculation of VB program has been worked out, which has improved computing efficiency.Research shows that stress is one of the key factors affecting the service life of tapered roller bearing. However, on both ends of the roller can produce stress concentration phenomenon in the process of loading for roller type bearing. Through the modification of roller, the service life of bearing will be improved roller to reduce the edge stress value.In this paper, the section model of the bearing are established based on Pro/ENGINEER,the 3D modeling software. By using Abaqus finite element software, the model has been simulated and calculated, to get the value of contact stress under three load conditions. The results are coMPared with the value calculated with Hertz contact theory to ensure the reliability of the FEM simulation.Through parametric modeling,the model for various roller modification scheme of bearings have been established. Through coMParison of the equivalent and contact stress between the different modification amount of symmetric logarithm and different roller modification amount of asymmetric logarithm, the relative optimal modification scheme has been reached in two kinds of load cases and the modification suggestions has been given.The speed of train continues to improve, as well as temperature of train axle box bearings increase. At the same time the bearing can be burn, which is along with the continuous increase of bearing thermal expansion and deformation. The simulation of temperature field for train bearings and its related analysis are also very important.Therefore, in this paper the finite element model of bearing based on coupling of thermal and stress has been established. Considering the temperature rise and load at the same time, the roller of tapered roller bearing has been conducted with multi group modification.Through the coMParison of the contact stress and equivalent stress calculation results, the relative optimum modification amount of the roller are determined under two kinds of load conditions.
