Technology innovation plays an important part in improving life quality, which is especially obvious in the household appliance industry. From the original wood to today’s fledgling intelligent kitchen, the rapid development of cooking methods is closely relevant to the progress of technology. Microwave oven, a representative of the home appliance of science and technology, is the result of technological advancement, changing and enriching people’s lifestyle to a remarkable extent. From the initial “radar” furnace to the first microwave oven production in Nanjing, still with the general use today, the microwave oven industry saw numerous technological innovations on the past few decades. Throughout the development history about microwave industry, it is easy to notice that the microwave technology innovation revolves around the heating performance research closely.At first, all microwave ovens were flat-plate. However, flat-plate microwave ovens were replaced by rotary microwave ovens afterwards for the original ones failed to meet the IEC standards. It even once appeared that the rotary microwave ovens fully occupied the microwave oven market. Later, plate microwave ovens reoccupied the market with outstanding heating performance and continued to expand the leading trend as a result of technological advancement, especially in the field of the new platform. What’s more, flat-plate microwave ovens have some innate advantages. Firstly, they are cleaned easier; secondly, they have great efficiency in the use of space; at last, the flat-plate shape is good for the hot air convection. Thus, the flat-plate microwave ovens became the protagonist of the microwave oven market again. Take Midea and Galanz as the representatives of the domestic microwave companies, their research mainly focused on the plate microwave ovens. The domestic plate microwave ovens account for more than 90% and the percentage is still enlarging. Overseas microwave oven manufacturers, such as Panasonic, Toshiba and LG, also emphasize on flat-plate microwave ovens mainly and achieved a lot.The key of this topic is how to use the antenna technology to effectively improve the heating performance of K23 L flat-plate microwave oven. The domestic microwaves mainly adopt stirrer for the cost is low and the results of stirrer research are large. On this account, the study of the stirrer and the antenna both needs to avoid patent problems. This article also tries to improve the heating performance without changing the measure, which still means big challenge to the antenna research.
