With the growing development of the Internet of Things and automotive demand, and intelligent transportation construction become more and more intense, Internet of Vehicles in recent years has been concerned widely. The design and research on the Internet of Vehicles has been attached importance to by the automobile manufacturers and government departments gradually. The world’s major automobile manufacturers and operators have also strengthened their cooperation and introduced a number of vehicle networking services, but these services have their limitations, and the applications are not used that extensively. Strictly speaking, the present vehicle network on the market can’t be considered a real one, since vehicle networking can never be fully deployed and applied in our life has a great relationship with the current network architecture, where the vehicle networking bottleneck lies. During the development of the Internet, until now, the host model of IP network architecture exposes the flaws that can’t meet the current application. NDN network architecture is one of future content centric network architectures. In this architecture, data names take the place of IP addresses in the network status. The Internet of Vehicles system based on NDN shows more advantages than IP to some extent. In this thesis, we analyzed and designed NDN architecture for Internet of Vehicles systems in routing and forwarding, security, privacy, fast information transmission and other transmission technology. We also designed and implemented an optimized NDN forwarding model and V2 V communication mechanism system and compared the data deliver performance with the IP’s architecture, the main contents are as follows:1 As analyzed the NDN architecture, design goals principle, packet type, node structure, data processing and other aspects of NDN, we made a comprehensive exposition about NDN, while we analyzed its network security, content protection, signature and trust management and privacy.2. We considered the current mainstream vehicle networking service in detail and proposed a vehicle networking system framework according to the features and benefits of NDN.3. Based on the analysis of NDN basic features and principles, a communication model of inter-vehicles is designed according to the particularity of vehicle network.4. With studying and designing the routing forwarding model of NDN architecture, a state forwarding model has been proposed and simulated with the NS-3, in which compared the communication performance with that of IP.5. According to the data structure and characteristics of NDN forwarding, we achieved the V2 V communication under NDN, and simulated it with NS-3 under the scenario of highway about data fast delivery. In this thesis, on the basis of the existing research on the NDN architecture, combining this kind of network architecture and vehicle networks, we designed a vehicles networking system architecture which based on NDN, the system architecture can well complete the car services and functions to be provided in the Internet of Vehicles, and has the characteristics of NDN at the same time. According to the data structure and characteristics of NDN forwarding, we also have designed and implement a stateful forwarding model, this stateful forward model can be a good use of a communication link, in case of network congestion, and can adaptively choose the better communication link to forward data, in contrast of TCP/IP. On this basis, we also have realized the V2 V communication simulation based on NDN, which under the freeway scene. The V2 V communication based on NDN can better and faster pass information to the longer distances according to the simulation.
